This textbook is designed for instructional laboratories of undergraduate general microbiology courses. Basic microbiological laboratory approaches are emphasized, as well as the diversity of microbes. Morphologies, physiologies, methods of microbial isolation, identification, and characterization are explored. The manual includes an unknown identification project with instructions for writing a scientific report detailing the project and its results.

 The course seeks to familiarize the learners with the possibilities involved in the management of diabetes and hypertension. This course is to make medical knowledge simpler and accessible for common people. This will help reduce anxiety about the diseases. Reduction in the incidence of threatening complications like cerebral stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, blindness,  diabetic foot and amputations is the goal we need to achieve. The health-aware person, a learner of this course, can be a patient itself, a relative, a neighbor, or anyone from society. Some basic education and a will to help the patient is all that is required.

For example, you can accompany the text with multimedia materials such as videos. By presenting information in multiple formats, students can more easily learn the material being taught.

A jigsaw activity where students watch one of five short videos on different aspects on opioid use and abuse.This resource contains a 50 minute activity to explore some of the science underlying the ongoing opioid epidemic in the US. It asks students to watch one of 5 short videos, then assemble in a  "jigsaw" group to discuss some general questions about opioid use and abuse. The activity is appropriate for first year undergraduate students from all majors.

Students are asked to work in teams to find a claim in the media relating to the impact of an organic compound (or class of organic compounds) on the environment and its inhabitants. Their chosen compound should have an effect on the sustainability of plant or animal life, or, in particular, the sustainability of human health.

Case Study for Pain Assessment using the PQRSTU method.  Identifies how to find objective and subjective cues for pain.  

This workbook is designed to give students in communication sciences and disorders foundational knowledge in Phonetics. Students will learn to listen and transcribe the speech of typically developing speakers of Standard American English in the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA). Students will also learn how to listen and transcribe the speech of individuals with common speech sound disorders (i.e., residual articulation disorders and phonological disorders).
