This is a set of documents intended to teach 80% of the Qur'an to learners. The ACTFL/ILR Oral Proficiency Interview by computer (OPIc) exam tests for speaking skills and is offered for various languages, Arabic being one of them. The exam can be administered to students of all proficiency levels who are in college and beyond. The length of the exam is 20-30 minutes and it is rated by ACTFL Certified ILR OPIc Raters. The results reported are individual scores of proficiency from 0 to 2.
This resource gives detailed proficiency guidelines for second language learners in the four major categories of speaking, writing, listening, and reading. It separates proficiency into five major levels: distinguished, superior, advanced, intermediate, and novice. Advanced, intermediate, and novice are further divided into high, mid, and low sublevels. The guidelines give detailed descriptions of language use regarding each level, applicable to all languages.

The length of the exam is 14-40 minutes and it is rated by ACTFL Certified ILR OPIc Raters. The results reported are 1 of 10 possible proficiency levels from the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines.

In 2016, the Rockefeller Archive Center (RAC) brought together like-minded professionals who use primary sources for public programming, outreach, and education, and the AER was born. As archival education is a still-developing field, the AER created a community where people could share their successes, challenges, and works in progress through casual workshops.AER’s network of educators, archivists, and archival education allies has since expanded its culture of support beyond the biannual meetings here at the RAC through social media, event attendance, joint publications, and email correspondence.It is our hope that this AER Newsletter will further extend the table, so speak, reaching more colleagues as we spotlight educators, and showcase the projects, challenges, and successes of archival education. ASLCORE is a Deaf-centric project which honors and celebrates Deaf culture and American Sign Language. ASL-LEX is a database of lexical and phonological properties of American Sign Language signs. It was first released in 2016 with nearly 1,000 signs. ASL-LEX was updated in Fall 2020 with greatly expanded information and an increased size of 2,723 signs.
ASL-LEX is available as a searchable web interface and as raw data in spreadsheet form. This website hosts the web visualization and provides instructions for how to use and download the database.
This YouTube channel features a series of videos recorded in 2014 by Hayley Smith, a university student who studied in Jordan in 2014. Before her trip to Jordan, Smith conducted a survey of K-12 Arabic teachers, asking them to recommend topics for the videos that would be helpful in teaching Arabic. The result is this series of videos, arranged in playlists that follow each individual participant through different scenarios and questions. The short clips are wonderful for exposing Arabic students to colloquial Arabic, spoken in daily situations and at a natural pace. This is a great way for students to see what young Jordanians are like, and to learn about their interests, their studies, and their relationships. Also on this channel are other playlists of popular videos, such as Arab Idol, which have been edited down for classroom use.
