This book is meant as a grammar supplement to the Al-Kitaab series. It has some dialogues of its own which can be accessed for free via the website located at the back of the book or via a CD available for purchase. It also includes lines for taking notes and for completing the exercises. This book was created in response to frustrations with working with the Al-Kitaab series and is not meant to stand alone; rather, it is meant to work side by side with Alif Baa and Al-Kitaab: Part One.

This is Experiment #3 in the Analytical Chemistry Lab sequence at MSU Denver. In this experiment students will extract bismuth from pepto bismol and then quantify it using two techniques: gravimetry and flame atomic absorption spectroscopy.

This is Experiment #5 in the Analytical Chemistry Lab sequence at MSU Denver. In this experiment, students will use two methods to determine the concentration of two food dyes in a sports beverage.Spectrophotometric analysis with linear least squares regressionHigh Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) analysisStudents will learn quantitative methods with spectroscopy and learn to interpret a chromatogram to create a calibration model. Then students will compare and contrast the methods and report their results in a technical write-up.

Intermediate students are asked to analyze data on the components of consumption and investment expenditures and explanatory variables based on textbook models of each. Students look for rough correlations between the explanatory and dependent variables.

These projects are intended to enhance the anatomy and physiology course content. I've designed these so that the group project is coimpatible with a traditional A&P 1 course, and the individual project is compatible with a traditional A&P 2 course. However, both of these projects can work with either course, albeit with minor modifications.

This assignment teaches geochemistry students to explain the mathematical forms of rate laws, and organize paragraphs in their writing assignments properly.

This resource is a Hands-On course to teach Apps Development to students who may not have any programming knowledge. This course has no pre-requisites. It’s time to add the 4th R – Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic and algoRithmic thinking. In a world where the majority of new jobs require science, technology and math skills, it is time our Liberal Arts majors get IT (Information Technology)! While employers recognize and value the importance of liberal education and the liberal arts, they also want liberal arts graduates who are not digitally challenged. Many employers report a “skills gap” as they have trouble finding recent graduates qualified with ample digital skills to fill various positions. Meanwhile, a national educational movement in computer coding instruction is growing at lightning speeds in schools across the US and many consider coding more like a basic life skill (which might someday lead to a great job) rather than an extracurricular activity. App Inventor (AI) serves to narrow this skills gap and increase the versatility of students to become active creators of technology and “digitally” ready for the workplace rather than just being passive consumers of technology. Sales of hand-held devices (smartphones, tablets and phablets) are exploding. These on-line, social, and increasingly mobile computing devices are ubiquitous and offer visual, tactile and personal experiences as never before. Mobile devices in our education landscape are digital and portable - with multimedia capabilities to access the Internet, and are drastically changing the ways we teach and learn. Developing applications for such devices enables digital natives to experience mobile technology as active creators rather than just passive consumers of technology.

The structure of the human body is usually considered in courses in gross anatomy. These courses typically consist of lectures by the faculty, readings in assigned textbooks and the study of photographs and illustrations in human anatomy atlases. However, as student’s progress through the curriculum and move into the more clinical or practice oriented phases, many discover that the anatomical knowledge they actually need is somewhat different from the kind they possess. What many encounter is difficulty in applying their knowledge to a clinical setting.

Applied Human Anatomy was created to better integrate material that is more often than not treated separately in contemporary health care curricula. It is hoped that through this integration students will develop a deeper and more lasting knowledge and understanding of human anatomy as they are likely to need it in the evaluation and management of patients.
