This presentation introduces the idea of clutter in writing. It offers examples of what cluttered writing looks like, and how it can be cleaned up. Ideas come from Jeff Andersen's "10 Things Every Writer Needs to Know." This resource can be uploaded into Nearpod to offer a more interactive option.

Der Klimawandel hat nicht nur Folgen in weit entfernten Teilen der Erde, sondern auch hier bei uns in Mitteleuropa. Die Mitteltemperatur in Europa liegt mit +1,2°C über dem globalen Wert der Temperatur Erhöhung. Diese enorme Temperaturveränderungen hat Folgen für das ganze Ökosystem in Mitteleuropa. In dieser Arbeit werden die Folgen für die deutschen Wälder beleuchtet, die durch ihre Speicherung von CO2 in ihrer Biomasse, ein großes Potenzial in der Klimakrise besitzen. Es werden die Gefahrenherde für die Wälder dargestellt und die Maßnahmen die von der Forstwirtschaft ergriffen werden um diese zu schützen.

Die Überfischung der Ozeane ist eine globale Herausforderung. Weltweit gelten 29 Prozent aller Fischbestände als überfischt. Welche Ursachen hat die Überfischung und welche Maßnahmen werden ergriffen, um diese einzudämmen und den Fischbestand nachhaltig zu sichern? Mit dem Nordseehering wird dabei ein Beispiel für erfolgreich betriebenes Fischereimanagement aufgezeigt, da die Art sich nach einem Zusammenbrechen des Bestands inzwischen erholt hat.

The Glossary was developed to serve as a vital resource for capacity building within ICT services, accessibility, and assistive technology in Qatar and beyond. Mada’s Glossary is essential to educate professionals, researchers, and individuals interested in the basic terms used in these fields. It is considered one of the first initiatives to provide such resources in Arabic.

In 2017, Ke Xin created the HelpYourMath website and HelpYourMath OER YouTube channels. What started as a way to help Borough of Manhattan Community College(BMCC) students get the extra help they need in math, developed into what it is today.

HelpYourMath operates as a non-profit and donation-sponsored, free educational source also known as an Open Education Resources (OER). With support from the college and the exceptional work and dedication of volunteer professors, tutors, and students, we have been able to create full curriculums for various college mathematics courses. The OER team was established and continues to grow every year.

HelpYourMath is an entirely self-functioning open source content site and channel. Although HelpYourMath was initially made to tailor the needs of the BMCC math curriculum, we are prepared to help students around the world from all walks of life. Our OER team believes that sharing is caring, and we are delighted to work with you.

LIMSwiki is a collaborative wiki dedicated to the scientific community, featuring organized, documented, and up-to-date content regarding all aspects of laboratory informatics, bioinformatics, and health informatics. LIMSwiki also strives to maintain relevant knowledge about laboratory equipment as well as commercial and open-source software likely to be used in a laboratory setting. This also includes the vendors of such equipment and software.

This OER Course Sprint focuses on a redesign that incorporates a new OER Cartography textbook into an existing Canvas course for its next offering. Since a current session of the course is currently opened and it will not be offered again until Winter 2024, I have created multiple choice questions to go with the textbook chapters and will add them to Canvas when the current section ends.

Eine nachgewiesene Auswirkung des fortschreitenden Klimawandels ist die weltweite Gletscherschmelze. Doch es gibt Ausnahmen. Bereits in den 1990ern konnte eine positive Massenbilanz (MB) bei Gletschern des zentralen Karakorums festgestellt werden. Heute ist bekannt, dass die sogenannte „Karakorum Anomalie“ mit stabilen und positiven MB auch in den benachbarten Gebirgen Pamir und Kunlun Shan auftritt. Gibt es also Gletscher, die resistent gegen die Einflüsse der globalen Erwärmung sind? Im Gegenteil. Zwar ist die Forschungsdebatte über die Ursachen und tatsächlichen Entwicklungen der Gletscher nicht abgeschlossen, dennoch ist klar: sie sind (auch) auf den Klimawandel zurückzuführen.

Weltweit stehen die Küstenregionen immer mehr unter Druck. Bedingt wird dies zum einen durch die globale Erderhitzung und den dadurch steigenden Meeresspiegel, zum anderen durch die zunehmende Beanspruchung etwa durch den Tourismus oder alternative Formen der Energiegewinnung. Um die Küsten und ihre Bewohner:innen resilienter zu machen, werden daher neben klassischen Küstenschutzmaßnahmen wie Deichen, Buhnen oder Küstenschutzmauern vermehrt alternative Küstenschutzmaßnahmen diskutiert, die in der Regel einen weniger invasiven Ansatz verfolgen und damit schonender zur Natur sein sollen. Einige dieser Maßnahmen und ihre Vor- und Nachteile werden auf diesem Poster dargestellt.
