Los problemas del aparato respiratorio han sido en los últimos tiempos causa de pérdidas de vidas, en especial desde la aparición del COVID 19 que trajo una pandemia de proporciones nunca vistas, es por esa razón que se considera importante realizar una recopilación de datos importantes referentes a esta temática de salud. Considerando que las enfermedades respiratorias constituyen problemas de salud que conllevan un alto riesgo de impacto en la calidad de vida de las personas y que pueden causar la muerte de las personas sino se detectan se tratan a tiempo, conocerlas y prevenirlas es una prioridad.

En cada área de especialidad, se pretende cumplir con los estándares establecidos en forma ética e integral. En el área de la salud la misión es formar un profesional de calidad, con una visión integral del mundo, formar un hombre comprometido con los problemas de salud, que afectan a la humanidad, capaz de enfrentar situaciones críticas de la práctica cotidiana.

Epidemiology is an openly licensed text designed for medical degree–seeking clinical students without a prior background in public health. Using sports medicine and injury prevention examples and applications, it aims to provide students with the basics of epidemiology terms and concepts and is intended to guide medical school students as they prepare for the USMLE Step 1 Exam and to transition from student to clinician. It includes an introduction to general concepts and terminology of epidemiology, study designs and their relationship to clinical questions, and the use of epidemiology in clinical diagnosis and screening of disease. Concluding sections of the book present sources of errors in epidemiologic studies, including bias, confounding, and effect modification. The book is notable for its use of accessible, inclusive figures and examples, and end-of-chapter study guides that summarize the chapter visually.

This workbook was established with nurse educators and nursing students in mind to provide knowledge, guidance, and support for integrating social determinants of health (SDOH) across the nursing education spectrum. Contents from this workbook are applicable to pre-licensure baccalaureate nursing programs, RN-to-BSN programs, and graduate education.

EyeRounds.org is a department supported site that provides training to residents, medical students and other ophthalmologists across the world. A very important recent addition are the EyeRounds Anki flash cards.

EyeRounds Anki is a free educational resource created by Iowa ophthalmology residents for all ophthalmology residents. It utilizes “Anki,” a popular flashcard program with a spaced-repetition algorithm that works to decrease study time and increase retention. Residents are busy and usually only have small pockets of free time to study. EyeRounds Anki works to maximize the study benefit received by focusing on high-yield material that broadly covers relevant ophthalmology material. EyeRounds Anki also emphasizes clinically important topics to help residents excel with patients. The EyeRounds Anki flash cards are integrated into the vast additional resources of EyeRounds to allow users to link to further detail on a topic.

The motto of EyeRounds Anki is “80% of the material in 20% of the time.”

The Portland Community College Health Studies Subject Area Committee redeveloped the Personal Health course with OERs as a basis for course material, which meets the Health Studies graduation requirement. The project team developed the course into 17 topic modules that cover a broad range of Personal and Public Health health topics. Each topic has a Google Slides Presentation, Instructor Resources, Student Resources, Topic Study Guides, an In-Class Activity, Discussion Questions, and any other additional OER resources available.

Introduction to adaptive and maladaptive, psychosocial and physiological responses related to commonly occurring psychological disorders as seen in the various healthcare settings. Integration QSEN competencies of patient-centered care, teamwork and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety and informatics. Prerequisite: Admission to nursing program. Corequisite: NSG 140, NSG 142, NSG 143, NSG 145.

Taking a transformational, place-based approach, the OER case studies for health are set within Australian metropolitan and regional areas so learning is contextual and relatable.

This OER will briefly describe occupations according to the OTPF-4, non-traditional fieldwork settings, and how to incorporate occupations into non-traditional placements.

This module is designed for postsecondary instruction.  The intention is to give an understanding of radiation safety from an occupational use standpoint.  It will aid the participant in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the principles and practices of occupational safety.  By the end of the lesson, the learner should be equipped to identify potential hazards, implement safety measures, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations to protect workers against the harmful effects of radiation.  This is one part of a unit that is being written on physical agent safety.
