This resource equips Nebraska educators with training and support to author high-quality open educational resources for CTE programs. Our goal is a hub of reliable and attractive materials on relevant program topics that are easily discoverable within aligned Nebraska Career Pathways.  Section One prepares OER authors by setting us up on OER Commons and metatagging for Nebraska CTE.  Section Two compiles resources to clarify Fair and Transformative Use of copyrighted work.  Section Three links to an award-winning and comprehensive OER training.

One important sector of the Food Industry is new product development.  At the conclusion of a basic food science unit, students will have the opportunity to develop their own new food products and consider how they will market their items to consumers.

This lesson presents an overview of how plants are propagated. Upon completion of this unit students will know how to propagate plants both sexually and asexually.

This lesson plan will cover establishing business goals, types of agribusiness goals, ways to accomplish goals, and major parts of a business plan. Adapted from Illinois Agricultural Education Core Curriculum.

This activity engages students in considering the scope of costs of tools, technology, and equipment in agriculture. The goal is to correctly guess the prices of various agriculture-related items. The contestant with the closest guess without going over wins the round. This can be used as a classroom activity, or for an FFA Chapter to host an activity for the school like a pep rally.

Rangelands are one of Nebraska’s most important and valuable natural resources: forage for livestock, habitat for wildlife, protection to soil from erosion, filters runoff water, and recharges groundwater. How does the temperature of soybean oil affect the viscosity of the oil? In this lesson, students will determine the viscosity of soybean oil (vegetable oil) at different temperatures. They will use thermometers and the viscosity chart. 

In this lesson, students will taste soymilk and make a smoothie from soymilk with additives. They will observe how soymilk is made as well as discuss the definition of milk.

In this lesson, students will estimate the yield of soybeans. With that yield, they will determine what food products or other products can be made from one acre of soybeans.

Students choose one of sixteen agriculture- or FFA-related learning activities from the grid for use during a day when the regular classroom teacher is absent. 

Analyze trends and their impact on hospitality and event planning practices and compare and contrast the relationship between industry and economic trends.
