Students will acquire new grade-level academic vocabulary by using images to make visual associations, which activiates student's long term memory. This lesson includes all of the information and materials that students need to create a vocabulary poster, share their poster with the class, practice a set of 14 vocabulary words, and take an assessment.

The purpose of our project is to encourage the students who participate in the learning process in English course. Also, our aim is to improve their skills in English and provide to take an interest in learning English. These activities will be issued online via web 2.0 tools. We are going to record videos, take photos, create learning materials, logos, blogs, have video conferences, share materials on Twinspace, disseminate and evaluate the project by working collaboratively. Then, we will collect them into a Web Twinsite.

In Module 9.3, students engage in an inquiry-based, iterative process for research. Building on work with evidence-based analysis in Modules 9.1 and 9.2, students explore topics of interest, gather research, and generate an evidence-based perspective to ultimately write an informative/explanatory research paper that synthesizes and articulates their findings. Students use textual analysis to surface potential topics for research, and develop and strengthen their writing by revising and editing.

This lesson was designed for English 9 students as an introduction to literary devices at the beginning of a short stories unit. The ultimate goal will be that students can analyze a story, explaining how an author uses these devices to create literature, but this lesson specifically focuses on domain-specific vocabulary.

Using published writers' texts and students' own writing, this unit explores emotions that are associated with the artful and deliberate use of commas, semicolons, colons, and exclamation points (end-stop marks of punctuation).

In the first bend of this unit, students will closely read multiple perspectives on the “American Dream” in
order to collect information to use and integrate that information into an evidence-based perspective.
Students will examine primary and secondary source documents to make informed decisions about
what information to collect that may inspire their writing about “The American Dream.”

In the second bend of this unit, students will engage in a short-research process to create a draft of
argumentative speech on the “American Dream” with a specific purpose, audience, and tone in mind.
They will use their inquiry research questions from bend one to begin analyzing search results and citing
and gathering relevant, accurate, and credible information.
