BPCC Open Campus - Math 097: Basic Mathematics is a review of basic mathematics skills. Here's what's covered: -fundamental numeral operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals -ratio and proportion -percent -systems of measurement -an introduction to geometry NOTE: Open Campus courses are non-credit reviews and tutorials and cannot be used to satisfy requirements in any curriculum at BPCC.

Students will begin to explore career fields that they are interested in within the results of their career aptitude test. Students will need to complete the career cluster activity with their results they need to choose an occupation within the field. Once this has been completed students will take a deep dive into that field.

This unit is appropriate for grades 7-12.  This can be taught in a middle school or high school course that is focusing specifically on careers. This unit can take about a month to complete if all 16 clusters are used.

This course assists students in developing real world oral communication skills. Capture the dynamics of todayęs business realities and see the benefits of effective communication. Selection of topics, library research, analysis, oral style, use of visual aids, and preparation and delivery of various types of speeches and oral presentations are included. The Internet, e-mail, community interaction, and other practical tools support student learning and increase public speaking skills. Emphasis is placed on principles of cultural diversity. Prerequisite: College-level reading and writing skills.
