"Success Stories: On the Radio" can be paired with core readings from Fitzgerald's "The Great Gatsby" and Gladwell's "Outliers."

In April 2019, a youth-led panel with representatives from youth and student organizations and global health leaders took place at our house in Stockholm.

Before the panel, we had the opportunity to sit down with Peter Sands (Executive Director of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria) and Dr Seth Berkley (CEO of Gavi the Vaccine Alliance) to discuss their respective work and personal engagement in global health. It became an interesting dialogue spanning over sustainable development goals, barriers to gain impact to achieve the 2030 agenda, the role of stakeholder engagement and reigniting global solidarity. This is a 10-20 minute activity that frontloads T.S. Eliot's "The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock" using a Terry Gross interview with Stephen Colbert. In the interview, Colbert tells Gross about his fascination with the masks we wear. He then pulls in a favorite song of his - "The Best Imitation of Myself" by Ben Folds - to illustrate the concept of 'faking' identity. Next steps after this activity: reading and annotating the poem itself. This activity is an excellent example to use for teaching 'allusion.'

These modules are meant to be very flexible so that instructors can use them in their courses as they see fit. They are organized into three categories: Basics Lessons, Fair Use Lessons, and Rights Statements Lessons. Each module explains the lesson objectives and is centered on an episode of the Podate ©hat (Copyright Chat). Some modules incorporate recommended readings as well. Each module has some “homework” for students to do outside of class as well as in-class exercises and discussion topics. The lessons are organized into modules because an instructor may only wish to engage with a particular topic, such as fair use or copyright myths, or might be more ambitious and have time to devote to all eight lessons. In any event, each module can stand alone or be used with other modules to create a course unit.

The fifth episode covers the basics of unemployment—how it is defined, how it is measured, and how it is categorized into three types. A "gameshow" quiz winds up the nine-minute lesson.

What exactly is online multimedia? We'll look at some examples related to earthquakes and volcanoes.
