Single Variable Calculus: An Introduction to Integration is a free and open textbook and is a great introduction to integration for students who have already taken courses in differential calculus. The book explains Calculus II concepts adequately, comprehensively, and concisely, and its topics are reflective of the content areas in other published Calculus textbooks. Problems in the textbook do not only test computational skills, but are also applicable and related to real-life problems and areas that students are interested in. The text gives an adequate picture of Calculus II – Integral Calculus and prepares students for other disciplines like Engineering and Physics, as well as higher-level Mathematics courses.

Introduction to the theory and techniques of differential and integral calculus of elementary functions with emphasis on applications in business and finance, taught both online and in-person in Fall 2022 at Yavapai College. Note: Computer use and graphing calculator required (TI-83/84 recommended). This course makes use of an embedded OER textbook, but also uses Lumen OHM homework assignments; these require a subscription to Lumen, which in this instance was provided by the institution. In cases where that is not possible, the homework assignments will need to be replaced, or students will have to pay a fee to access the homework. Contact Lumen to find out more about student access to its homework platforms.

I intend this book to be, firstly, a introduction to calculus based on the hyperreal number system. In other words, I will use infinitesimal and infinite numbers freely. Just as most beginning calculus books provide no logical justification for the real number system, I will provide none for the hyperreals. The reader interested in questions of foundations should consult books such as Abraham Robinson's Non-standard Analysis or Robert Goldblatt's Lectures on the Hyperreals. Secondly, I have aimed the text primarily at readers who already have some familiarity with calculus. Although the book does not explicitly assume any prerequisites beyond basic algebra and trigonometry, in practice the pace is too fast for most of those without some acquaintance with the basic notions of calculus.

We all know that calculus courses such as 18.01 Single Variable Calculus and 18.02 Multivariable Calculus cover univariate and vector calculus, respectively. Modern applications such as machine learning and large-scale optimization require the next big step, "matrix calculus" and calculus on arbitrary vector spaces. This class covers a coherent approach to matrix calculus showing techniques that allow you to think of a matrix holistically (not just as an array of scalars), generalize and compute derivatives of important matrix factorizations and many other complicated-looking operations, and understand how differentiation formulas must be reimagined in large-scale computing.

MATH&148 is a calculus course for business students. It is designed for students who want a brief course in calculus. Topics include differential and integral calculus of elementary functions. Problems emphasize business and social science applications. Translating words into mathematics and solving word problems are emphasized over algebra. Applications are mainly business oriented (e.g. cost, revenue, and profit). Mathematical theory and complex algebraic manipulations are not mainstays of this course, which is designed to be less rigorous than the calculus sequence for scientists and engineers. Topics are presented according to the rule of four: geometrically, numerically, analytically, and verbally. That is, symbolic manipulation must be balanced with graphical interpretation, numerical examples, and writing. Trigonometry is not part of the course.
