"Students connect polynomial arithmetic to computations with whole numbers and integers.  Students learn that the arithmetic of rational expressions is governed by the same rules as the arithmetic of rational numbers.  This unit helps students see connections between solutions to polynomial equations, zeros of polynomials, and graphs of polynomial functions.  Polynomial equations are solved over the set of complex numbers, leading to a beginning understanding of the fundamental theorem of algebra.  Application and modeling problems connect multiple representations and include both real world and purely mathematical situations.

Identify and arrange medium- and long-term finance for an overseas buyer (internal/external) to allow the buyer extended terms while providing cash payment to a seller without recourse.MSU Global has teamed with experts in the international finance field to create resources to help increase international skills in the business community. These materials address the need of the international trade practitioner for knowledge and information that is specific to trade finance by providing a means for educators and business practitioners to transfer knowledge, skills, and understanding of the global marketplace to a number of prospective learners. These resources were created around the framework developed by the NASBITE International Certified Global Business Professional Program.

This is a task from the Illustrative Mathematics website that is one part of a complete illustration of the standard to which it is aligned. Each task has at least one solution and some commentary that addresses important asects of the task and its potential use. Here are the first few lines of the commentary for this task: Let $z = 1 + i$ where $i^2 = -1$. Calculate $z^2, z^3,$ and $z^4$. Graph $z, z^2, z^3,$ and $z^4$ in the complex plane. What do you notice about the po...
