Students will practice asking and answering questions. Students will also practice using facial expressions. Students will learn about the importance of facial expressions in Deaf culture.
Through watching this presentation, students will learn about Keller's childhood, her life with Anne Sullivan, her education growing up, Helen's successes, as well as the impact she left behind on the Deaf community.
Students will also view short videos of ASL 1 students signing the information provided in the given slide.

In this activity, students will practice introducing themselves. They will also have a brief review on a variety of topics.
This lab will introduce ASL 101 students to our lab expectations and guidelines. It will also allow them to introduce themselves and play a short game involving the alphabet. At the end, there will also be a short presentation on some ASL culture.
Students will review holiday signs. Students will have a discussion on Deaf culture and how their thoughts on ASL/Deaf Culture have changed through the learning and experiences.
This activity allows students to practice lip reading. Students will get a glimpse into deaf culture and how important lip reading is for Deaf individuals.
In this activity, students will practice talking about things they have and have not done before. This will help students practice conversation and introduce them to speaking about themselves.
Students will have the opportunity to practice discussing the concept of time in American Sign Language and working through time conflicts in conversation.
In this activity, students will play a game to review the conversation skills acquired this past semester. This activity will be a review of questions, introductions, and basic information. The goal is for students to be able to sign a response to the questions as fast as they can.
Students will better their fingerspelling skills by making a short story with their lab mates. In the main activity, students will play a game, while learning about physical descriptions and additional information about a person.
