This OER curriculum map was created by Nebraska World Language teachers and reviewed by Dr. Chrystal Liu & Dorann Avey as part of the 2023 World Language OER Summer work and training. Educators worked with NDE staff to create OER Learning Plans and materials. The attached curriculum map is designed for 9 - 12 World Language Arts teachers for student learning of Mid Novice Learners of Spanish. Students will analyze and evaluate the elements of literary text, build background knowledge to clarify text and deepen understanding, and use relevant evidence from a variety of sources to assist in analysis and reflection of complex text. This Lesson Plan addresses the following NDE World Language Standard(s): NE WL 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, and 5.2.

This online resource which is designed as a highly interactive alternative to a textbook for a full-semester course to help beginning students gain or increase Spanish skills that are useful for their career, daily life, academics and travel. The emphasis will be in language output for daily life and professional purposes, and there is very little emphasis on grammar as this will be acquired naturally through exposure to the language.Students will find activities to build speaking, listening, writing and reading skills as well as explore Spanish, Hispanic and Latin American culture.All sources in this resource are Open Educational Resources which are free and available to all users.

This OER clas activity was created by Joseba Moreno as part of the 2023 World Language OER Summer work and training. Educators worked with NDE staff to create OER Learning Plans and materials. The attached resource is designed for 9 - 12 World Language Arts teachers for student learning of basic Learners of Spanish. The attachment contains a document with a template to play a game of Tic, Tac, Toe, using personal questions. The game follows the traditional rules of tic, tac, toe, with the variation that in order to make a move, the student has to ask the question written in the spot they want to his classmate by using the Spanish learnt in the first unit of a novice World Language class.
