Engage: Students will be shown pictures of objects that have been exposed to high doses of radiation.  They will be asked to speculate about what may have caused the change.

Explain (part 1-Students): Student discussion with lab partner. (Use questions from the Half-Life activity as a guide.)

Following the discussion, complete Half-Life Problems: 

Explain (part 2-Teacher): Class discussion (Use questions from  the Half-Life activity and Half-Life Problems as a guide.)  

Elaborate: Computer simulation (Complete the simulation and fill out the Radiometric Ages for Various Objects document.)
