Football Follies - Congruent Triangles

Did you see what happened at the game on Friday night?  It was unbelievable! Some of the team members sat on the bench on the sidelines and the bench collapsed!  Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the team now has a broken bench.

Football Team's Bench Collapses

Coach needs your help.  You and your group need to design, plan and build a repair for the broken bench using the properties of congruent trianges and/or parallel lines.  The bench for the team needs to be _______ feet long and ______ feet high. The school has provided us with all of the tools we need, but we need to purchase all of the materials.  The Coach has given us a budget of $_______ .  Because we are a school (non-profit organization), there is no sales tax on any of the building materials we will need to purchase.
