 BMM.HS.5.5.a Explain the concepts of accounting and financial records used by businesses.  

I can explain accounting terms such as revenue, expenses, profit,asset, liability, and budget. 

I can understand the basic financial equation.

I can describe the differences between an income statement and a balance sheet.

 BMM.HS.5.5.b Explain the role of finance in business and its role in decision making.  

I can identify different types of business budgets and their purpose.

Quarterly Financial Report

Detailed Description:

Students are asked to prepare a quarterly financial report for a  hypothetical company and present at a board of directors meeting. Students prepare an income statement and balance sheet for quarter 1. They will provide an update on the performance of the company and address any financial issues the company is facing.

Students must use financial terms, create a balance sheet and income statement, develop a presentation. Link to Directions Sheet.
