California Social Work Education Center

Resources and tools for developing and supporting California’s professional social service workforce serving the state’s diverse population

About CalSWEC

CalSWEC is the nation’s largest state coalition of social work educators and practitioners. Unique in its size and scope, the CalSWEC collaborative provides professional education, student support, in-service training, and workforce evaluation and research—all directed toward developing effective, culturally competent public service delivery to the people of California. The organization is located at UC Berkeley's School of Social Welfare.

The CalSWEC network hub is a space where social work educators, trainers, practitioners, students, and community can share, use, or adapt educational or professional development resources. For further information about CalSWEC, please see the organization's website or contact calswec@berkeley.edu with questions.

Interviewing and Writing resources added!

Following the Spring 2015 CalSWEC Network Hub workshop in Los Angeles, two new folders were created https://www.oercommons.org/hubs/calswec#shared-group-folders. A series of "basic interviewing" videos contributed by the Academy for Professional Excellence to the Interviewing folder have been remixed by CalSWEC to address basic writing skills. The resource "Intro to Case Notes for New Social Workers https://www.oercommons.org/courses/writing-good-case-notes-differentiate-fact-evidence-from-assessment-opinion provides an example of how you can remix resources shared by our network!
