Do Something Different this Week

(Choose whatever area of your life as a student that you need to work on.  It could be the chapter we’re currently working on or it could be something more urgent that you know you need to do to get what you want this week.  You don’t HAVE to use this form – you can use an app (like HabitBull or write up your own format.)  Just make sure to do enough analysis of what happened to earn the deep dive points.

For seven days I will

Can you see what it is that you said you’ll do?  It needs to be something that you KNOW you can do this 100%  and it’s not some vague idea or dream you.  Smaller is better.  To make sure think about each these steps:

  • Is it dated?(Does it have an end point?)    Yes/No
  • Is it achieveable?  (Do you know you can do this for 7 days?)    Yes/No
  • Is it personal to you? (Do not involve someone else.) Yes/No
  • Is it positive? (You might need to rewrite it.) Yes/No
  • Is it specific?  (Small step forward that you can measure/grade)

DateReward (Pick up some gold stars in class if that works)

Use another page, or record in your journal or online and write LOTS on the following prompts.  The secret to your own success is in your own individual head.  It takes a lot of thinking to figure it out.

During my seven-day experiment, what happened?  How many days did you do your action?  How did that make you feel?  When did you not do it?  Why? Go into some detail here.   What do you need to change in my environment, myself, my commitment to make it happen?  (We often learn more when we screw up than when we’re perfect)

As a result of what happened, what did I learn or relearn about ME?  What do I need to do to make sure I keep commitments I make to myself?
