The role of juvenile probation is to reduce recidivism and to maintain and return youth as law abiding members to the community. Probation officers are tasked with balancing the responsibilities of community safety, youth safety and rehabilitation and treatment. This is an opportunity to gain an understanding of the role and responsibilities of probation officers, the juvenile court process and services provided to youth.
