ATD Coach Reflections/Updates on Volunteer State Philosophy OER Course

The philosophy faculty members at Volunteer State are working diligently on their Intro to Philosophy OER textbook which will be in the genre of Applied Philosophy, as opposed to other textbooks on the market that tend to view philosophy from a historical or concept-based perspective. Their text will be more focused on the DOING of philosophy. They are contemplating what to include to make it most digestible and engaging for beginners as well as how to package it in a clear-cut and tease-apart-the-issues kind of way. Soon they'll begin their work on course design along with their instructional designer. They are a super crew of philosophers and educators working on OER as well as thinking about equity and culturally responsive teaching as they work on their course redesign.
