Learning Target: I can create a Google Classroom and post an announcement.

Students will watch a screencast about creating a Google Classroom. Then using a chromebook or desktop computer, they will create a Google Classroom and post a welcome announcement.

Assessment: Once students have created their own Google Classroom, they will send the class code to the instructor so that he/she can join the classroom and view what is being done during the duration of the class. (The instructor will only remain a part of the Google Classroom for the duration of the class, then they can be removed.) The learning target for this lesson has been met if the student creates a Google Classroom and adds a welcome announcement.
