Our cohort from Middle Tennessee State University conducted a Landscape Analysis to uncover key structures and supports that can guide our work to support accessibility in OER. 

In June of 2023, a select team from Siena Heights University participated in a free Accessible OER Academy for Institutions of Higher Education hosted by ISKME and CAST. Participants in the academy were provided with this OER to engage in a Landscape Analysis to uncover key structures and supports to help guide our work to support Accessibility in OER.Our team is using this document as a place to share ideas with others and our own community as we progress as an institution toward increased adoption and incorporation of OER internally and support best-practices in accessibility for all

This resource provides free, open-source videos for students preparing for JEE-Advanced.
This project was conceptualized and implemented by Dr. Ankur Gupta, now a professor at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from MIT and is an alumnus of IIT-Dehli. He had support for this project from Dr. Anshul Singhal, also an alumnus of IIT-Dehli and MIT. The initiative attracted several volunteers at MIT, including Rohit Kannan, Neelkanth Bardhan, Vaibhav Unhelkar, Ananth Govind Rajan, Pritish Kamath and Mikhil Ranka.

In this module we are going to look at an alternative way of thinking about environmental change.  It is another tool to move the group toward alternative space planning.  We are first going to explore the work of Doreen Massey, her thoughts on the multiplicity of space and how we are blinded by focusing on your single slice of time and function within a space.  In what should appeal to all librarians, Massey talks about space as “a story, a narrative” that is continually being written. We will also explore an “Immersive Planning” concept that Knoll Furniture has introduced into office and university space planning.  The concept works equally as well in the school library environment but is currently not being leverage there.  The process recognizes that space boundaries are becoming unclear because of the way users want to work.  Defining a space with a single purpose has lost its functionality in today’s world, or as Massey states space is a “multiplicity of trajectories”.

The Icebergs Project is a National Science Foundation sponsored partnership between University of Oregon’s research team lead by Dr. David Sutherland and 7th grade teachers for Eugene School District 4J’s Arts and Technology Academy Middle School, along with support from University of Oregon’s STEM CORE, a STEM education center. Over the course of several years teachers and scientists co-planned, revised, and carried out a research-connected cross-disciplinary project-based unit culminating in an “Icebergs Field Day” involving all members of the PI’s research team. Ultimately two separate week-long units were designed, with only one implemented each year.
