Alabama OER Commons

About Alabama OER Commons

The Alabama OER Commons is a place for Alabama educators, students, and the general public to find and share free educational resources.

We aim to bring together in one location some of the most useful OER textbooks and other materials available, and also to provide a central location for OER that are “made in Alabama” - original creations, as well as OER that have been adapted or remixed to fit the needs of Alabama students and residents.

The Alabama OER Commons is sponsored by the Alabama Virtual Library (AVL).  Become a part of Alabama’s OER community by joining one of the groups listed below!  We welcome Alabama residents who want to share their knowledge with each other and with the world.

Alabama OER Commons Public Launch

April 1, 2019, 4:15 p.m.

Fellow OER Supporters,

We are excited to announce that today is the public launch for the new Alabama OER Commons. You can now find the Hub listed at https://www.oercommons.org/hubs/

You can literally have a global impact by creating and sharing content at the Alabama OER Commons. The resources currently posted are being viewed by people all over the world.

The hub is your place to create and share content made in Alabama. When you create or adapt content, please tag it Alabama OER Commons. We will periodically move this content into the Alabama Collections.

We encourage you to actively participate as members and leaders of the groups. We want this to be a thriving community.

We appreciate all of your efforts in growing the OER movement in Alabama. We look forward to supporting development.
