This document contains answers to Frequently Asked Questions for the Pathways Project | OER Language Teaching Repository Pathways Project, an initiative from the Boise State University Department of World Languages, is an open and collaborative network of instructional materials and professional development created by and uniquely for Idaho’s K-16 language teachers and students. Teachers and students participating in the Pathways Project come from different fields of study and schools across Idaho to create open (i.e., free), digital activities that support the teaching and learning of foreign languages and promote intercultural competence. During the warm-up students will review how to sign shapes and the cardinal numbers from the slideshow. For the main activity, students will pair up and each grab a picture card without showing it to their partner. One student will describe the picture card being specific to location, color, etc, while the other draws what their partner just described to them. The partners will then switch roles.

Students will review what theatrical interpreters consider when signing live performances. After creating a list together, students will be grouped into two or three, analyze their movie clip and work together to interpret it. Students will learn more about interpreting live performances, and how to best interpret performances.

In this activity students will get the opportunity to learn some Valentine's Day vocabulary and will be able to share and talk about a given prompt as well as personal stories. Students are given twitter excerpts about bad first dates, this allows them to explain a sequence of events by using different signs and classifiers.
