Acoustics (from Greek ακουστικός pronounced akoustikos meaning "of or for hearing, ready to hear") is the science that studies sound, in particular its production, transmission, and effects. The science of acoustics has many applications which are dependent upon the nature of the sound that is to be produced, transmitted or controlled.

Blender 3D: Noob to Pro is a product of shared effort by numerous team members and anonymous editors. Its purpose is to teach people how to create three-dimensional computer graphics using Blender, a free software application. This book is intended to be used in conjunction with other on-line resources that complement it.
This supplement is intended for an introductory electrical circuits course offered in a two or four year electrical engineering technology program. It features approximately 500 problems in DC electrical circuits ranging from introductory concepts and units through resistor color code, series, parallel, series-parallel and multi-source source circuits using voltage and current sources. Coverage includes Thévenin's and Norton's Theorems, maximum power transfer, source conversions, mesh & nodal analysis and superposition. Introductory material on capacitors and inductors with RL and RC transients rounds out the collection. Problems in each section are divided into four categories: Analysis, Design, Challenge and Simulation. Answers to the odd-numbered Design and Analysis problems are given in the appendix.

The Delft Design Guide presents an overview of product design approaches and methods used in the Bachelor and Master curriculum at the faculty of Industrial Design Engineering in Delft.
Product design at Industrial Design Engineering in Delft is regarded as a systematic and structured activity, purposeful and goal-oriented. Due to its complexity, designing requires a structured and systematic approach as well as moments of heightened creativity. In this guide we restrict ourselves deliberately to approaches we teach in Delft. Although we are aware of others, they are not included in this design guide. The design guide is largely based on existing books and articles; where possible we have tried our best to refer to these works in the appropriate form.
The objectives of the Delft Design Guide are threefold:
design students can use it as a ‘first aid’ in their design projects, managing their personal development of becoming a designer;
design tutors can use it as a reference manual to support students in their learning process; and
professional designers can user the design guide as a reference manual to support their design processes.
Most of the content of the Delft Design Guide is being trained in five bachelor design courses:

This book was written by two artist educators who teach digital art and design studio foundation classes. While teaching classes that take place in software laboratories, we noticed that many of our students expected to learn to use software, but gave little consideration to aesthetics or art and design history. A typical first day question is, "Are we going to learn Photoshop in this class?" This book is a mash-up of the Bauhaus Basic Course and open source software such as Inkscape, Gimp, Firefox, and Processing. We have taken some of the visual principles and exercises from the Bauhaus Basic Course and adapted them into exercises for these applications.
El presente artículo presenta los resultados de una investigación que analiza el nivel de calidad reflexiva de los profesores, en el marco de un programa innovador de formación docente que introduce la práctica reflexiva, mediada y gestionada a través de un portafolio digital. Aporta a la discusión sobre nuevos usos de un portafolio digital para mejorar los procesos de reflexión por parte del profesorado y sobre modelos alternativos de formación docente; analiza los diferentes niveles de reflexión de los participantes, e identifica los obstáculos para lograr niveles de mayor profundidad. La metodología de investigación adoptada ha sidoun estudio instrumental de caso, en el marco de un programa de formación del profesorado universitario. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el proceso reflexivo contribuye a una percepción positiva sobre la mejora de su desempeño, la planificación de sus clases y una mejor interacción con los alumnos, y que el uso del portafolio digital ha sido bien valorado para el desarrollo del proceso reflexivo propuesto. Asimismo, se identifican carencias, sobre todo en relación con los niveles de profundidad de la reflexión docente. Por último, se presenta una propuesta de indicadores para impulsar y evaluar el desarrollo reflexivo, basada en los hallazgos del estudio.
This textbook has been designed to be an introductory training to the entry-level position, Physical Therapy Aide. As part of College of the Sequoias Physical Therapy Aide program, this textbook was used alongside hands-on lab training to train students to work as Physical Therapy Aides. It discusses some of the history and current context of Physical Therapy, provides instruction on common PT Aide job activities (like modalities and transfers), introduces general physiology, reviews commonly-used medical terminology, and, in an effort to embed necessary remediation for the PT Aide program, also includes effective career skills and habits, like business letter writing, resumes, effective communication skills, and appropriate workplace conduct.

Exploring Movie Construction and Production contains eight chapters of the major areas of film construction and production. The discussion covers theme, genre, narrative structure, character portrayal, story, plot, directing style, cinematography, and editing. Important terminology is defined and types of analysis are discussed and demonstrated. An extended example of how a movie description reflects the setting, narrative structure, or directing style is used throughout the book to illustrate building blocks of each theme. This is a step-by-step introduction to the music programming language SuperCollider. It is aimed at students with little to no background in programming. Knowledge of basic music theory may be occasionally useful, but it is not required. This book encourages students to actively explore sound and musical structure through computer programming. Music and arts students interested in sound will find the tools to deepen their knowledge of digital music making. The book may also serve as a fun, music-oriented introduction to basic programming to a general audience of college students. SuperCollider is a free, open source software, and it runs on Linux, Windows, and Macintosh computers.
This textbook -- written by a group of select experts with a focus on different aspects of the design process, from creation to production -- addresses the many steps of creating and then producing physical, printed, or other imaged products that people interact with on a daily basis. It covers the concept that, while most modern graphic design is created on computers using design software, the ideas and concepts don’t stay on the computer. The ideas need to be completed in the computer software, then progress to an imaging (traditionally referred to as printing) process. Keywords are highlighted throughout and summarized in a Glossary at the end of the book, and each chapter includes exercises and suggested readings.
Permaculture Design is a method of land planning that can be applied at scales from the home garden to city block to village to farm. It is an ethically based whole-systems design approach that uses concepts, principles, and methods derived from ecosystems, indigenous technologies, and other time-tested practices to create sustainable human settlements and institutions. Although rooted in horticulture and agriculture, Permaculture design is interdisciplinary, touching on a wide range of subjects including regional planning, ecology, animal husbandry, appropriate technology, architecture, social justice, and international development.
This open text book is derived from the content of the Massive Open Online Course “Intro to Permaculture”. The original course also included interactive mapping and design tools that accompanied this content. The course and book provide a general overview of the Permaculture design system. The book can be downloaded as a print version. However, there are many accompanying videos and content pages that are linked to throughout the text, so it is best viewed online where the links can be accessed.
This textbook is an introduction to the tourism and hospitality industry in British Columbia, and is written with a first year college and university audience in mind. This is a laboratory manual covering linear semiconductors, appropriate for students in an Electrical Engineering Technology program (AAS or BS). The exercises begin with basic diodes and progress through NPN and PNP bipolar transistors using various DC biasing forms. AC small signal analysis is encountered next followed by large signal class A and class B analysis. The manual concludes with exercises on JFET biasing and amplifiers.
This lab manual is intended for an introductory programming course for Electrical Engineering and/or Technology students at the AAS and/or BS level. It begins with an introduction to the Multisim (tm) simulation software and progresses to programming using the Python language. Most programming assignments are based on electrical applications.

MOOCs and Open Educational Resources: A Handbook for Educators is being made available for university faculty, educators, and educational producers involved in producing online courses. The guide is a step-by-step manual to how to produce and distribute educational video content under the freest of licenses, with an emphasis on Creative Commons. It is hoped that some utility may be found in its pages by all kinds of readers, whether one is a staff videographer or a chaired senior faculty member or a freelance video editor, or in any position around and in between.
