    Overview

    This activity guides students through creating a full business plan through a seven-week competition to become the winner of a fictional Ag Econ Apprentice job. Adapted from activity by Megan Dohrman.

    Ag Econ Apprentice: Business Plan Competition

    This is an outline and rubric for seven weeks of creating a business plan as part of a classroom competition.  This would pair well with lesson plan content about business plan components. 

    Overview:  This activity guides students through creating a full business plan through a seven-week classroom competition to become the winner of an imaginary Ag Econ Apprentice job. Adapted from activity by Megan Dohrman.

    Standards:

    AFNR.HS.6.1.a  Identify the key components of entrepreneurship (e.g., opportunity, resources, organization.)

    AFNR.HS.6.6.a  Create a new product/business using entrepreneurial skills and financial planning documentation.

     

    Learning Goal:  Students will create various components of a business plan in each of seven weeks including: cover page, table of contents, executive summary, business description, definition of the market, description of product or service, organization and management, market and sales strategy, and appendices.
