Overview:  This activity guides students through an ‘idea storm’ where they practice identifying a pain point, or opportunity, in the context of exploring business ownership, entrepreneurship, and Supervised Agricultural Experiences as part of agricultural education.

Nebraska Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources Learning Standards:

AFNR.HS.6.1.a  Identify the key components of entrepreneurship (e.g., opportunity, resources, organization.)

AFNR.HS.6.6.a  Create a new product/business using entrepreneurial skills and financial planning documentation.

Learning Goal:  Students will brainstorm ways to improve an ordinary coffee cup, then brainstorm pain points with their daily routine, find common pain points within the group, take action by proposing multiple possible solutions, and present about the process, businesses that came to mind when thinking about the favorite pain point and solution, and how Supervised Agricultural Experiences relate to owning a business.

Essential Question:  How do Supervised Agricultural Experiences relate to owning a business?
