    Activity Information

Did you know that you can access the complete collection of Pathways Project German activities in our new Let’s Chat! German pressbook? View the book here: https://boisestate.pressbooks.pub/pathwaysgerman

Please Note: Many of our activities were created by upper-division students at Boise State University and serve as a foundation that our community of practice can build upon and refine. While they are polished, we welcome and encourage collaboration from language instructors to help modify grammar, syntax, and content where needed. Kindly contact pathwaysproject@boisestate.edu with any suggestions and we will update the content in a timely manner.

    2. Ask the students the following questions for the warm-up.

(Where have you travelled in the USA?)
    • Was nehmt ihr mit, wenn ihr reist? (What do you take with you when you travel?)

    Main Activity

There are four people who want to travel to Salzburg. Read through to see what people like. You should find a perfect place that your person would definitely like.

    1. Divide students into pairs.

Teilen Sie die Schüler in Paare auf.

    2. Each pair will be assigned a person from the slideshow (Michael, Saskia, Sebastian or Jule).

Jedem Paar wird eine Person aus der Diashow zugewiesen (Michael, Saskia, Sebastian oder Jule).

    3. The students then have to come up with activities for the person to do in whichever city in Austria they choose.

    4. iPads can be used.

    iPads können verwendet werden.

    5. The students should make sure to include where the person will be staying, what they will be doing, what they should bring, and anything else and write it on the whiteboard.

    6. The students then share with the group.

    Wrap-Up

Ask students the following question(s) to finish the activity:

    • Wohin wollt ihr gerne reisen? (Where do you want to travel?)
(What do you do when you're on vacation?)
    • Was ist eure Lieblingsstadt? (What is your favorite city?)
