    Warm-Up

    1. Begin by introducing the Can-Dos for today’s activity and open the Google Slideshow.

Hoy vamos a compartir cosas sobre nuestra vida. También vamos a descubrir la mentira al compartir tres oraciones sobre nuestra vida.

Today we will share about ourselves. We will also discover the lie by sharing three phrases about our lives.

    2. Ask the students, "What is a lie?" Ask them to put their reply on the chatbox in the Target Language.

“¿Qué es una mentira?” y pide que pongan una respuesta (en español) en la caja de chat.

What is a lie?, ask the students to write their answers in Spanish in the chat.

"Explica qué es una mentira en tus propias palabras. Por ejemplo: Una mentira es como cuando los padres le dicen a sus hijos que Santa Claus es real"

Explain what a lie is in your own words. For example, A lie is like when the parents tell their kids that Santa is real.

    3. Review the rules of the game. "You will have one minute to read the three sentences. In the chat, you will type the sentence number that you think is a lie. It is necessary that you explain with a complete sentence explaining why you chose the number." Set a minute timer. If you haven't received any answers, you can increase the time. Review the answers with the students (it isn't necessary to read each sentence). Click for the next slide and reveal the two truths and a lie.

"Van a tener un minuto para leer las tres oraciones."

You will have a minute to read the three phrases.

"En la ventana del chat, vas a poner el número de la oración que piensas que es  mentira."

In the chat write the number of the phrase that you think is a lie.

Es necesario que expliquen verbalmente con una oración completa por que piensan que es una mentira.

You have to explain why you think it's a lie using a complete phrase.

"¡No pueden buscar la respuesta por internet! 😉"

You cannot look for the answer on the internet.

    Main Activity

    1. Review the rules on the slide with the students. Place them in groups of two and ask them to do a round. If there's extra time, you can do more rounds or you can ask them to share the lies with the whole group.

Ahora, van a jugar el juego en parejas. Tomen turnos para compartir una mentira y dos verdades sobre tu vida. Tu pareja va a adivinar la mentira y después revela cual era la mentira.

Now you will play the game in pairs. Take turns sharing a lie and two truths about your life. Your partner will guess the lie and after reveal which one is the lie.
