Materials Needed:

Warm-up

  • Begin by opening the Google Slideshow and introduce the Can-Do Statements.
  • This activity is similar to Mad-Libs! For the warm-up, students are going to work individually. Every student will have access to a virtual whiteboard. Each person will be assigned specific tasks. One person should write a subject (person), another person writes a verb and another person should write a place.
    • Para este calentamiento, deben trabajar individualmente. Cada persona va a tener una pizarra virtual. Una persona necesita escribir un sujeto (persona), otra persona va escribir un verbo, y la otra un lugar.
  • For example: Ejemplo: Panda Express, Bailar, Shakira. Shakira baila en el restaurante de Panda Express.
  • Instruct the students to work together and form the sentence that conjugates the verb! (Do three to four of these, having them change the roles each time.)
    • Vamos a trabajar juntos para formar una frase con un sujeto, verbo y lugar.
  • Lab assistant, make sure to create a new class on the whiteboard website and then share the link with them. Once they have joined the class, you are going to have access to see the student's boards. Assign one student to write a subject, another student to write a verb, and another one to write a place. (There could be two verbs if the lab has 5students). Once the students are done writing, the lab assistant is going to call out the students name so the lab assistant could write it down on the board what they wrote (Once done push it out to them so they are able to see it) and the fourth student will be able to see it and read it out loud for everyone.
  • Make sure to switch around who chooses the verb, subject, and place.
    • Bueno, ahora vamos a cambiar de papeles. Ustedes van a escribir el sujeto, ustedes el verbo, y ustedes el lugar.
