    Lesson Description: Simple way to practice stretching positions.

    Learning Goals/Outcomes: Students will work practice various stretching positions. 

    Nebraska Standards:
    PE.K.1.2.d Curls and stretches the body and/or parts of the body.
    PE.1.1.2.d Curls, stretches, twists, and bends the body and/or parts of the body
    PE.2.1.2.a Balances on different bases of support, combining levels and shapes.
    PE.3.1.2.a Balances on different bases of support, combining levels and shapes.
    PE.8.3.5.a Performs basic movements used in other stress-reducing activities
    PE.HS.1.1.b Demonstrates proficiency in multiple skills in a variety of health-related activities (e.g., running, core exercises, yoga, resistance training).

    Instructional Plan:

    Roll the dice and match the number to the position. Hold the stretch for 40 seconds, rest for 20 seconds before rolling again. Important to work on breathing during this activity

    1-Knees to Chest
    2- Child Pose
    4- Tree Pose
    5-Downward Facing Dog
    6-Cobra Pose

    Anticipatory Set/Pre-Activity:  Can be used at the beginning of class as a warm up or at the end of class for closure on at the end of class to review the positions learned that day. Can also be used in a classroom as a way to help students refocus. 

    Modifications:  Include different positions for the students to do. 

    Safety Precautions: Design the exercises for the students to be able to safely complete.
