    Identifying Text Features

    Overview

For this lesson, your attention will be focused on text features. You will walk away from this lesson with a better understanding of text features and how they assist in understanding information. You will develop your skills of gathering data, as well as an understanding of the importance of accuracy. You will be asked to read or watch related content, and you will have the opportunity to create slides, board games, writings, and posters, etc., to show your understanding of text features.

    Engage

    Introductory warm-up activity.

Once you are done reading these directions, you will be going to the linked Quizlet site found below. First go to the Quizlet “Nonfiction Text Features” link and review the 'flash cards'. If you feel confident, proceed to the 'test' tab on Quizlet and take the test, then show the facilitator your results (face to face or screen shot shared). If you feel you require further practice, go to the 'learn' tab on Quizlet before taking the test.

Your sequence to complete this Engage activity should either be: 'flashcards' to 'test' or 'flashcards' to 'learn' to 'test' on Quizlet link.
