COURSE DESCRIPTION

 

A study of microscopic organisms, including bacteria, protozoa, fungi, worms and viruses, with an emphasis on the role of these organisms in health and diseases. Aseptic lab techniques, varied cultivation methods and standard diagnostic procedures are included. This course supports student development of Quantitative Literacy, Critical Thinking and Multicultural/Global Literacy. 3 hours lecture/ 2 hours lab.
