    Biography Research

    Overview

        
    During this lesson, students will learn more about a historical person by researching on the Internet and presenting to the class. Students will learn biographical information about their person.  Students will compile their research together in a class book.

     

    The process

    The teacher will facilitate the project by working with students during independent work time.  At times the teacher will work with students in small group or individually, as needed.  

     

    1.    Students will choose their favorite historical person to research with guidance from their parents and teachers.

    2.    Students will research online using PebbleGo and read a print book about their chosen person.

    3.    Students will complete find the given information about their chosen person with the help of their parents at home and teachers at school using computers and books. 

    4.    Students will write information found 1 fact per square in their own writing and spelling.

    5.    Students will use notes to create a page using the Book Creator app on school iPads or create a page to be included in a class book.

    6.    Sudents will add an image to their page that directly relates to the chosen person.

    7.    Each student will contribute one page to the class book.

    8.    Students will read their page during a class presentation.  If Book Creator is used, the link can be shared with parents.
