Exploring the app Clips

Directions:

Use the steps below to create a video while learning how to use the app Clips.

Create a new project

Step 1:

  • Create a new project

 

 

  • Tap the Projects icon in the upper-left corner, then tap the plus icon.

Add a new video to the project

 

  • To start recording, hold the red record button. If you don't want to hold the button, swipe up on the record button to lock it.
    • To stop recording, let go of the record button. If you locked the record button, tap it to stop recording. Find the new clip in the timeline at the bottom of the screen.

    • To watch your recorded clips, tap a clip in the timeline, then tap the play button.

    • KEEP IT CLEAN AND SCHOOL APPROPRIATE

Add a Poster and alter it’s text

  • Add a Poster and alter it’s text

    • Select the Poster tab right above the pink record button.

    • Select a poster to add

    • Select the sample text and change it to something else.

Add a new video with an effect

Step 4:

  • Add a new video with an effect

    • Follow the steps listed in Step 1 but first select the rainbow star in the lower right hand corner and change the effect

Add a label or sticker

Step 5:

  • Add a label or sticker

    • Select the rainbow star in the lower right hand corner and select a Label or sticker to add to one of your clips

  • Select the rainbow star in the lower right hand corner and select a Label or sticker to add to one of your clips

Add a clip and mute it

Step 6:

  • Add a clip and mute it

    • After recording select your clip on the timeline along the bottom.

    • When the menu pops up hit the mute button

Add music

Step 7:

  • Add music

    • Select the music notes in the upper right hand corner

    • Select ‘Soundtracks”

    • Pick a song from the provided clips

    • Hit the arrow in the top left and then select ‘Apply’

    • Hit the arrow in the top left and then select ‘Apply’

Export

Step 8:

  • Export

    • Tap the share icon, then select Save Video

    • Open your iPhoto AppImage result for iphoto app and share it to your Google Drive

    • Select the folder on your Google Drive you would like to save it to and hit ‘Upload’

  • Export

    • Tap the share icon, then select Save Video

    • Open your iPhoto AppImage result for iphoto app and share it to your Google Drive

    • Select the folder on your Google Drive you would like to save it to and hit ‘Upload’

Post

  • Post

    • Logging back into Google Classroom select the Exploring Clips Assignment

    • Select the paper clip or Google Drive Symbol

    • Find your video on your Google Drive and attach it to the assignment

    • BE SURE TO HIT SUBMIT once it is attached
