    Overview

    In this seminar you will be able to discuss Spanish artists using comparison phrases and o-->ue stem changing verbs.  Comparison phrases such as more than, less than, and as much as can be used in conjunction with previously learned adjectives.   In this seminar you will compare and contrast various Spanish-speaking artists and their influence in art.

    • After exploring/discussing some of the various Spanish-speaking artists and their styles, which one is your favorite and why?  Mention a specific work of art they are known for.

    Select two of the Spanish-speaking artists from below:

    1. Frida Kahlo

    2. Diego Rivera

    3. Pablo Picasso

    4. Fernando Botero

    5. El Greco

    6. Salvador Dali

    7. Jose Orozco

    Do some research on the two you select- what styles of art did/do they paint?  Where are they from?  What is distinct about their styles?  Identify 1-2 famous paintings.  You can also find some important biographical information about their lives.

    You will write a paragraph, 2-3 sentences, comparing and contrasting the two artists.  You must use the comparing and contrasting phrases from this module to write your five sentences.  Make sure it is clear what two artists you select in your paragraph. Click here to get access to many useful art words in Spanish that you can also use in your paragraph.
