    Talk about Household Chores

    Overview

    Are you responsible for chores around the house?  Maybe you have to take out the garbage once a week or you are responsible for setting the table and washing dishes.  Everyone's responsibilities may vary and in this seminar you will discuss the many household chores to complete in Spanish so you can understand when people are talking about up keeping their home.

    Introductory warm-up activity.

    The word we all hate "chores."  Why do we dislike this word to much?  It usually pertains to things we HAVE to do, not necessarily we want to do.  Make a list of the chores you have to do, what other chores need done at your residence?  You will be able to listen and understand what chores have to be done in order to keep a house or apartment clean.

    Listen to what Mami's day is like.  Create a list of 5 chores she does in Spanish.  Some of these chores are on your vocabulary list from this module and some of them are new so listen carefully.

    Complete this wrap-up activity where you reflect on your learning.  

    1. Write a reflection paragraph answering the following questions:

    • Household chores can be a real drag sometimes.  Create a top five list in Spanish of chores you wouldn't mind doing (1- el más preferido and 5- el menos preferido). Do you think these words will be easy or difficult to remember based on if you like doing them or not?
