    Explore More

Practice your listening skills by listening to Mami talk about her interests.

    Explain

Discuss your ideas / opinions / understandings.

    Directions:

Based on what you learned in the Explore and Engage sections of this Seminar, answer the following prompt:

List three vocabulary words in Spanish that describe what you like to do.  Do you think they are common activities kids your age like to do?

    Evaluate

Now it is time to self-check how much you have learned about the this topic.  If you do not know as much as you thought, go back to the “Explore” section of this seminar and reread, rewatch, or redo the activities listed.  See your facilitator if you have questions.

    Elaborate

This is a task or project where you can show what you know.

    Directions:

Imagine you just met a new Spanish-speaking friend.  You are getting to know them.  Create a conversation in dialogue form (example below) asking each others name(1), how you are doing(2), where you are from(3), and what you like to do(4).  Make sure it is a polite conversation so use "y tú."  Do not forget different greetings and farewells too.  You must use si or no at least ONCE in your conversation.  Watch your spelling in Spanish!

    Miguel: ¡Hola Luisa!

    Luisa: ¡Hola Miguel! (Question 1)

Miguel: (Response to question 1 and polite back)

    Luisa: (Response to question 1)

    Miguel: (Question 2)

Luisa: (Response to Question 2 and ask Question 3)

Miguel: (Response to Question 3 and polite back)

    Luisa: (Question 4)

Miguel: (Response to Question 4 and polite back)

Luisa: (Response to Question 4) Adios!

    Miguel: ¡Adios!

    ELABORATE - EXTRA CREDIT

For extra credit, find 2 unique Spanish names and use those instead of Miguel and Luisa. When you are done, submit your dialogue.
