    Binary to Decimal

    Overview

    Objectives

    STUDENTS WILL:

    1. Define the words binary, bit,  and bit rate

    2. Successfully convert decimal to binary and vise versa

    3. Create binary flippy do to assist in converting binary to decimal and vice versa

    Homework: complete any WS not completed in class. They will be collected tomorrow at the beginning of class

    Flippy Do Creation

    Use the following links and files to create your own binary flippy do

    Heres how it works:

    1. The decimal numbers should add up to the number you are attempting to convert

    2. Flip up a one for every number you use

    3. If you do not use the number leave it as a zero

    4. Once you have finished, list the bits from left to right

    5. All done!

    Lesson 1 Practice

    the practice WS (see file) has 20 practice problems on it

    • 10 binary to decimal
    • 10 decimal to binary

    Students should complete at least 5 binary to decimal and 5 decimal to binary problems to receive full credit for the work
