Coupled with a lesson on sex determination, this gives an interesting visual of the process of many organisms.

Utility of Materials Designed to Support Teaching: Limited (1)

This was used as a supplemental component to a genetics unit. The students found the sex determination mechanism in other organisms interesting and it helped them understand mammal determination better. This also sparked great classroom discussion.
