This is a set of documents intended to teach 80% of the Qur'an to learners. The philosophy is that since many of the words in the Qur'an are repeated, 80% of it can be learned quickly and easily by knowing what to focus on. Included are lists of vocabulary separated into genre, such as pronouns and ways to say 'no', verbs and verb conjugation charts, grammar charts detailing active and passive participles, and more. Many of the documents are in PDF as well as in Excel so that changes can be made to the templates, i.e. translation into other languages if desired.

The exam can be administered to students of all proficiency levels who are in college and beyond. The length of the exam is 20-30 minutes and it is rated by ACTFL Certified ILR OPIc Raters. The results reported are individual scores of proficiency from 0 to 2.

This resource gives detailed proficiency guidelines for second language learners in the four major categories of speaking, writing, listening, and reading. It separates proficiency into five major levels: distinguished, superior, advanced, intermediate, and novice. Advanced, intermediate, and novice are further divided into high, mid, and low sublevels. This YouTube channel features a series of videos recorded in 2014 by Hayley Smith, a university student who studied in Jordan in 2014. Before her trip to Jordan, Smith conducted a survey of K-12 Arabic teachers, asking them to recommend topics for the videos that would be helpful in teaching Arabic. The result is this series of videos, arranged in playlists that follow each individual participant through different scenarios and questions. The short clips are wonderful for exposing Arabic students to colloquial Arabic, spoken in daily situations and at a natural pace. This is a great way for students to see what young Jordanians are like, and to learn about their interests, their studies, and their relationships. Also on this channel are other playlists of popular videos, such as Arab Idol, which have been edited down for classroom use.

This is a website that teaches about the Arabic alphabet using a pyramid of colors. It introduces how to make the different shapes of the letters via a system of letters holding 'hands'. The website contains a number of products available, including magnetic letters, puzzles, and interactive CD-ROMs. Geared towards children, the products can also be used for adults looking for a different way to learn the Arabic alphabet.

This site's sole function is to provide users with full conjugations of Arabic verbs. It allows users to select any three letter root from a pick a verb form (I-X) and then view a list of the verb conjugated for all pronouns in present and past tense, passive and active voice, and in all three Arabic verb cases.

This website hosts many examples of poetry from the jahiliyyah period to the present in an attempt to create a comprehensive diwan of Arabic poetry. Some poems have an audio component. Users can browse poetry by time period, by audio file, by author's name, or by custom search. The website is also in English and there are many poems that have been translated into English, although some poems that are on the website in English are not on the website in Arabic and vice versa. Users can submit poetry to the website via a submission system.

There are also specific links related to learning Arabic: dictionaries, language classes, textbooks, and other information pertaining to the study of Arabic. This book is intended for those who have already learned to read Arabic but are still struggling with the basics of Arabic grammar. The book moves from the very simple to the very complex, and includes examples and exercises in each chapter to reinforce learning. The key to the exercises is found in the back of the book. The book is difficult to find, as it was published at the Defense Language Institute. The following is an alphabet reading and writing drill based on advertisements for fast food items, restaurants/chains, and multinational companies that should mostly be recognizable to students. Students are asked to work in pairs, read the ads and write them out on the accompanying sheet in Arabic and translate them to English.

Mainly an Islamic site for children, this section of Play & Learn provides an introduction to all of the letters in the Arabic alphabet. There are a total of 74 printable worksheets, some of which provide practice for children to write the letters and some intended for children to recognize the letters in their connected and unconnected forms. The worksheets also provide practice with long vowels and tanween and the site provides downloadable audio pronunciations of each letter.

In this lesson, students will engage in interactive exercises in the classroom and in the museum to better understand the history of the American Dream, how it applies to their own lives and the lives of Arab Americans. This lesson can be used in Social Studies classrooms as well as English classrooms discussing the theme of the American Dream.
