Headstart2 consists of two units containing ten modules each - Unit One (Sound and Script) is geared towards language learning using 20 interactive tasks. Unit Two (Military) is focused on military goals, but still of some use to the average language learner. Headstart2 also features over 100 downloadable writing drills. Headstart2 offers courses for MSA as well as Egyptian, Iraqi, and Levantine Arabic. In addition to language training, there is an emphasis on cultural education.

The book is difficult to find, as it was published at the Defense Language Institute. Arabic Phone Conversations includes over 300 recordings of staged phone conversations in one of three dialects: Levantine, Iraqi, or Egyptian. The conversations' difficulty levels are rated and range from 2-3 (on the ILR scale). Users can search for conversations by level, dialect, and topic. Phone calls are designed to be used in the classroom, and all recordings are accompanied by four worksheets, two in English, and two in Arabic.
