Students will get the chance to watch a CODA Comedian in the warm up and get a glimpse into what it is like to have deaf parents. In the main activity, students will be able to work together to understand just how important facial expressions in sign language are.
Students get to practice their receptive skills with a fingerspelling quiz. Students should be reading fingerspelling at a mid-fast speed. Students are also practicing receptive/expressive descriptions of places/images/etc.
Students are exposed to a wide variety of things to do with this activity, each individual activity focuses on either expressive or receptive signs. All four activities work on improving fingerspelling skills, as well as reading fingerspelling. Students also get a chance to experience tactile signing in one of the activities!
Students will talk about their favorite board games. They will learn how to discuss preferences in board games. For the main activity, students are playing battle ship with some review of vocabulary signs from the semester.
