This lesson/activity is a supplement to textbook resources when teaching and reviewing adjusting entries for Supplies and Prepaid Insurance. By using candy (or other small items), students can record the transactions and have the visual inventory of items, thus emphasizing the need for adjusting entries.

Arab Culture through Literature and Film is a five unit high school curriculum that provides students with knowledge and tools toanalyze and understand the Arab world. The materials utilize a student-centered pedagogical approach that promotes critical thinking and respect and encourages engaged global citizenship. Through this curriculum, students will recognize shared themes across the region and gain a sense of the rich diversity inherent to the multidimensional cultures of the Arab world. Students will study life and culture in the Arab world and engage with primary sources including films, short stories, and poems. In this lesson students will learn about the different types of bees, the bee life cycle, and the importance of bees for our local ecosystems. Includes some background information about bees and instructions for the pollination simulation activity.
Time: 45-50 minutes
Materials: "The Honeybee Man" or other book about bees and pollination, small bag of cheetos, pip cleaners, various colors of construction paper, pompoms (small and medium), small dixie cups for water, straws (15 per group), jewerly bags, and yarn

Lesson 2 materials: for each student - 12" x 12" piece of aluminum foil, 4 popsicle sticks, 2 straws, 12" masking tape; teacher pre-setup - enough pennies for testing (500 pennies per group), pool filled 2/3 with water
Lesson 3 materials: string/yarn, 1/2 straw for each student, 2 different types of paper (tissue & white copy paper), tape, scissors, fan, wooden skewers, 2 popsicle sticks per student, rulers, protractors, stencils.
