In this activity, students will have the opportunity to get to know each other and their lab assistant by sharing summer experiences in a casual setting. Students will share their preferences and express reasons for their preferences as well. Students will also practice describing vacations.
Students will have a chance to get acquainted with the other students in their lab group. Additionally, they will review vocabulary they learned in previous semesters. Students will discuss their likes and dislikes, explaining their preferences. This is a great lab to start the year off.
Students will have a "Meet and Greet Party" where they will pretend to be someone else, such as "Shakira". They will introduce and greet other people and this will help them to practice introducing themselves, greeting someone, and answering how they feel.
Students will work in pairs/small groups to get to know everyone. They will guess certain aspects of their lives (major, name, hometown, pets) and then present their answers in the target language.
In this fun activity for Novice Mid-Novice High learners, students will play an icebreaker game to get to know one another. For the main activity, they will practice asking and answering questions about their hometown.
