Get ready to be inspired by the groundbreaking presentation titled "Achieving M.O.D.E.L.S. of Excellence"! This masterpiece is the result of my thesis project, which earned me an honorary doctorate in education from the prestigious T.O.C.A. Consortium of Global BPOs in EdTech.

After devoting 35 years to the field of education and working across the globe, I am beyond grateful to share this framework with fellow educators and learners. This presentation is not just a culmination of my life's work, but a revolutionary guide to help you achieve excellence in every aspect of your academic and professional journey.

To be recognized with an honorary doctorate is truly an honor that humbles me to the core. Join me in celebrating this achievement and let's strive for excellence together!

This resource is a video abstract of a research paper created by Research Square on behalf of its authors. It provides a synopsis that's easy to understand, and can be used to introduce the topics it covers to students, researchers, and the general public. The video's transcript is also provided in full, with a portion provided below for preview:

"High-quality reference genomes are needed to understand the physiology and function of uncultured microbes in complex ecosystems. Metagenomics has been an incredibly useful tool for studying microbial communities, but assigning sequence assemblies accurately to genomes is difficult in microbial species or strains that lack a reference genome. These 'consensus genomes' have lower resolution than those generated from cultured isolates. Combining single-cell genomics with metagenomics may allow us to overcome these methodological weaknesses. Thus, researchers recently developed a framework called SMAGLinker, which integrates single-cell genomes from microfluidic droplets and uses them as guides for metagenome assembly. Compared to metagenomics alone, SMAGLinker showed more precise contig binning and higher recovery rates of rRNA and plasmids in a mock microbial community. In human gut and skin microbiota samples, SMAGLinker returned more genomes than the conventional metagenomics frameworks..."

In collaboration with the private and public sectors, the National Institute for Standards and Technology (NIST) has developed a framework to better manage risks to individuals, organizations, and society associated with artificial intelligence (AI). The NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF) is intended for voluntary use and to improve the ability to incorporate trustworthiness considerations into the design, development, use, and evaluation of AI products, services, and systems.

This paper addresses online and open education. It presents a simple, yet comprehensive framework that can be adopted by any higher education institution in seek of: (1) clarification of terms and concepts related to online and open education, (2) awareness of issues and challenges to set up strategies for online or open learning, (3) informed choices and their impacts on operationalization actions, from an institutional point of view, (4) perspectives on crucial issues, such as mobility, that HEI faces in a context of internationalization, (5) awareness of policymakers and teachers on what open and online education is.

It provides a synopsis that's easy to understand, and can be used to introduce the topics it covers to students, researchers, and the general public. The video's transcript is also provided in full, with a portion provided below for preview:

"Although they’re microscopically small, microbes have critical effects on the world around them. The development of new technologies such as next-generation sequencing (NGS) has enabled scientists to examine what shapes microbial communities in the wild. A novel concept, Phylogenetic Core Groups (PCGs), aims to search for a taxonomic classification revealing the selective forces imposed by the environment, hence, complementing traditional classification methods. But because microbial communities are sensitive to environmental fluctuations and we observe only a small fraction of these communities, it is difficult to disentangle these selective forces from community composition only. A new study proposes an improved conceptual framework to refine the determination of PCGs. Starting with a regional pool of microbial species, scientists can observe changes in the community composition and relate these changes to environmental variables. Determining the relative contribution of stochastic vs..."
