This workbook provides the first session to the Module: Promoting student engagement through the application of technology to develop active learning: ‘Active Learning with Technology’

The aim of this module is to promote active student learning by the use of technology in teaching practice. Participants will engage in a reflective process to identify and develop potential areas of active learning and participation within their practice. They will then evaluate and assess technological options to apply within a given session, module or programme.

This site was used by the "mobile learning" course in the academic year 2010-2011 at the Technologies in Education programme, the Dept. of Learning, Instruction and Teacher Education of the University of Haifa. The site is offered to the public as an open educational resource . You will find here the lesson plans, list of articles and resources we used, and tips and insights which we shared with each other.The course was based on a design approach, and in its centre - a learning design mini-studio, in which students worked in teams on mobile learning projects which they conceived, planned, executed and researched.
