This is a set of documents intended to teach 80% of the Qur'an to learners. The philosophy is that since many of the words in the Qur'an are repeated, 80% of it can be learned quickly and easily by knowing what to focus on. Included are lists of vocabulary separated into genre, such as pronouns and ways to say 'no', verbs and verb conjugation charts, grammar charts detailing active and passive participles, and more. Many of the documents are in PDF as well as in Excel so that changes can be made to the templates, i.e. translation into other languages if desired.

This collection is intended to provide instructors with a wide variety of nonfiction examples of good writing that they can use to teach composition.

This book is a free and open resource for composition instructors and students, full of essays that could supplement OER rhetoric and writing texts that lack readings. All of the essays in this reader are versatile rhetorically and thematically. It is arranged alphabetically by author name. Each essay has a series of hashtags that apply to the essay in some way. You can search for essays thematically for topics like education, the environment, politics, or health. You can also search for essays based on composition concepts like analysis, synthesis, and research. You can search for essays that are based on shared values, essays that rely heavily on ethos, logos, or pathos, essays that are very kairos-dependent, and essays that are scholarly.

This collection was created in Google Docs so that it is easily adapted and edited.

This is a short description of the ACAT Method.The method uses analogous comparisons by taking examples or situations from everyday life and in consequence the logical or analogous transfer to the scientific problem. The method uses the development of imaginations or “pictures in the head” to develop a view of the analogy; this picture is transferred as a problem-solving idea to the concrete scientific problem. Multimedia material like animations are used to provide a higher level of imagination and to develop the understanding for the discussed problem.

The Framework, re-framed in "plain English" for students and faculty. The goal was to make the ACRL Framework easier to understand (many people don't use iterative in everyday conversation, for example) and to make the connection between information literacy and institutional mission/vision and learning outcomes clear.

"Traumatic brain injury (TBI), or brain damage caused by a sudden blow or jolt to the head, is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. The mechanisms are complex and differ among patients, making TBI difficult to treat, and anti-inflammatory agents that are effective in animal models have been less promising in human trials, indicating that better treatments are needed. To explore new strategies, a recent study investigated the effect of the anti-inflammatory compound ACT001 on TBI. In mice, ACT001 reduced brain damage and improved motor function after TBI by reducing trauma-induced activation of microglia, which are immune cells of the central nervous system. In vitro, ACT001 also reduced activation of mouse and rat microglia induced by the bacterial toxin lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and downregulated LPS-induced secretion of proinflammatory molecules in a mouse microglial cell line..."

"Myocardial infarction (MI), or heart attack, can cause long-term damage that leads to heart failure. To treat this type of heart failure, it’s critical to heal the pathological structural changes in the heart and preserve cardiac function. A recent study investigated potential treatment targets by exploring the role of the enzyme ADAM17, whose levels are increased during MI. In a group of 152 patients with MI, high ADAM17 levels were associated with a greater incidence of subsequent heart failure, as well as poorer heart function and higher mortality, suggesting a negative role of ADAM17. In mice with MI, elevated ADAM17 levels were linked to heart damage, but blocking ADAM17 activity limited the cardiac damage and remodeling after MI. Experiments in cultured heart cells revealed that ADAM17 exerted its harmful effects by promoting loss of the cardioprotective enzyme ACE2 and that the activation of ADAM17 depended on modification of a specific site in the protein p38 MAPK..."
