This project would consist of students learning that their digital footprint can be used to assess their learning, ethics and habits. Students will be analyzing social media types and incidents that have occurred with social media.  This includes social media's impact on news, research and above all personal choices and representation.  Each student will be creating a digital portfolio with a technology representation of themselves that they would want others to see them as.  This portfolio would include goal setting charts, goal planning, examples of quality work areas of education and areas of interest  that they are curious about or would like to learn from.  This portfolio would follow the students through middle school and continue to the high school level as part of their senior portfolio and graduation requirements from the Eatonville School District.  This piece is intended to demonstrate that media placed in digital format is a representation of you and your work.  Students can use this for their benefit and to be taken as a 21st century learner.

Healing Souls is designed to help young women living in the conflicted areas of Pakistan to cope out of depression. The resources will aware as well as empower them with skills on mental health for their well-being.

This curriculum focuses on issues related to mental health service utilization and outcomes among children in the child welfare system. In spite of the documented need for mental health services for these children, there is a lack of information on children involved with both the child welfare and mental health systems. In order to improve our understanding of the issues and needs of this population, this curriculum focuses on five areas: (a) demographic and system-related characteristics of children involved in both the child welfare and mental health systems; (b) clinical need for services, service utilization patterns, and association between mental health service utilization and child welfare outcomes; (c) policies affecting mental health service utilization by children in the child welfare system; (d) collaboration between child welfare and mental health systems; and (e) resources for collaboration and service provision for children and youth in both the child welfare and mental health systems. The curriculum will provide research highlights, conceptual frameworks, tools, and experiential opportunities to strengthen understanding of a wide range of issues related to mental health service utilization among children in the public child welfare system. There is a vast need for mental health support in populations affected by adversity globally. However, current evidence-based psychological interventions require significant resources and are highly challenging to bring to scale. This presentation will focus on an effort to address needs for mental health support through a WHO-developed guided self-help intervention. The presentation will discuss the adaptation and evaluation of the intervention with South Sudanese refugees in Uganda. Subsequently, the speaker will reflect on how this type of intervention may lend itself for integration in programming outside of the health sector to address the social determinants of mental health.

The knowledge acquired will be incorporated within a player injury profile. Students will be able to understand coping strategies to help athletes deal with sport related stresses. The activities used to aid in understanding of sports psychology will be a lecture and video and article response writing along with  group discussion to athletes dealing with psychological barriers and how they cope with them.

In this course, we will study resilience and well-being to prevent burnout, traumatic stress, and compassion fatigue for social services and mental health professionals, healthcare providers, emergency first responders, and other relationship-intense occupations.We will explore the causes, symptoms, and effects of traumatic stress, burnout, compassion fatigue, and other work-related stress, with a keen focus on enhancing quality of life and improving a healthy lifestyle by incorporating evidence-based practices in psychological and emotional resilience training, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, positive psychology, prevention, peer support, and self-care, including nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Finally, we will explore strategies that function as preventative medicine to help mitigate the potential harmful effects of highly stressful careers.

This course covers recent advances in behavioral economics by reviewing some of the assumptions made in mainstream economic models, and by discussing how human behavior systematically departs from these assumptions. Applications will cover a wide range of fields, including labor and public economics, industrial organization, health economics, finance, and development economics.

We will examine current research and theory regarding the validity and utility of commonly accepted gender differences in many realms. Topics include: gender differences in cognitive abilities; the social construction of gender; developmental, family, educational and medical influences; and political and economic forces.

In this lesson, students will learn how mental health fits in our modern society. We will discuss how mental health and mental illness are related to each other, yet different from each other.
