The in-service teacher training programme was developed and adapted to UNESCO ICT Competency Framework for Teachers (CFT Version 3) and built by adapting and supplementing existing Open Educational Resources (OER). UNESCO ICT CFT consists of 18 competencies organized according to the six aspects of teachers’ professional practice, over three levels of teachers’ pedagogical use of ICT. The underlying idea is that teachers who have competencies to use ICT in their professional practice will deliver quality education and ultimately be able to effectively guide the development of students’ ICT competencies. Rwanda in-service teacher training programme focuses on competencies to integrate the appropriate ICT tools in a classroom setting and bring new experiences to Rwandan schools so that students and teachers have more exposure to an environment that grants them access to more valuable information. The in-service teacher training programme is designed to empower Rwandan school teachers to use ICT as an educational tool to enhance their teaching and learning.

Advocating For My Accessible Educational Materials (AEM) is a workbook designed for students to use as they begin to learn to advocate for the accommodations and accessibility features they need in their educational programs. It applies common self-advocacy principles to the needs of students who use AEM in their daily educational programs. Students and their support teams will find this guide useful when an assessment has been completed to establish the need for accessible educational materials, technology, and assistive technology. In creating this workbook, the authors have assumed that the student is already using their AEM in functional ways in their educational environments. Because students can start building self-advocacy skills as soon as they begin to use AEM, individual sections of the workbook may be useful as soon as students begin to learn to use AEM.

There are already many online lessons for building digital skills in higher …
There are already many online lessons for building digital skills in higher education, so why is Ateliers sur demande | Instant Workshops creating more? First, it is not always easy to find lessons in both English and French, which is particularly helpful in Canada, for example, where Ateliers sur demande | Instant Workshops started. Second, when English and French lessons do exist, sometimes there are issues with accessibility, such as videos without captions. Or there are issues with access, such as subscription fees or institutional logins. Or there are issues with resources that are too long or inflexible or impersonal.
The collaborators on Ateliers sur demande | Instant Workshops aim to provide digital skills lessons for higher education in French and English that are free, open, focused, accessible, flexible, and humanized. The site and initial suite of lessons were made possible with funding by the Government of Ontario and through eCampusOntario’s support of the Virtual Learning Strategy, and new lessons are added regularly.
